===== Field Flattener ===== ----Some refracting telescopes suffer from distortion toward the edges of the field of view, similar to a fisheye lens though not as pronounced. This can be corrected with a field flattener which slightly changes the way the light travels at the edges of an image. An example of an un-flat field [http://i.imgur.com/cgmRL6Z.jpg can be found here], notice how the stars toward the corners and edges seem to stretch inward slightly.
